Beauty Salon of the Year – Four Rooms or More

Now in its 13^th year of business, Zen branched out with the launch of its third site in Edinburgh’s shopping quarter last year and despite having only been open for six months, it was the new site that claimed the prize on the night.  It boasts a champagne nail bar, brow bar and four treatment rooms.

The official visitor found that attention to detail in this salon was second to none with super-comfortable heated couches and glossy white cabinets in treatment rooms providing and ultra-comfortable yet clean and minimalist feel.

Husband-and-wife team Fiona and Kieran Fowley renowned in the industry for their professionalism and vision have applied this to their third salon with every bit as much love as the first two.

Their commitment to marketing also wowed the judges, who were impressed with their extra touches such as branded umbrellas given free to any client leaving in the rain – creating a walking advert for the salon in the local area.

Our industry expert panel also noted that staff were well motivated, well-trained and delivered good treatments at a consistently high standard. “A great-looking, well designed salon with good sized treatment rooms and a lovely open, modern feel” was how one judge described Zen Lifestyle.
