As we revealed in a blog post last month, we were recently awarded the Investors in People Standard, a comprehensive assessment of a company’s people management practices carried out by Investors in People.
We were absolutely delighted to be recognised in this way, particularly as we continually invest in our team and provide them with extensive training and regular opportunities to grow and develop.
New members of staff always receive both internal and external training courses in the initial induction programme, however the development doesn’t stop there.
There are always opportunities to work your way up the ladder at Zen Lifestyle – in fact, many of our staff started out as therapists and have progressed through the company to become managers and assistant managers.
Suzanne moved up through Zen Lifestyle from therapist to Business Development Manager
One prime example of the opportunities available at Zen is our Business Development Manager Suzanne Bain, who left us at the end of 2013 to relocate to Dubai.
Suzanne joined the team as a therapist in 2006, and then became a receptionist at our Bruntsfield salon, before spending two years as a receptionist at our Teviot salon.
Carrie, who was manager at Teviot Place at the time, then moved to open our flagship salon and skin clinic on Hanover Street, leaving Suzanne to take on the management role at Teviot, an opportunity that she grabbed with both hands.
Suzanne then left the company to travel around South America for four months, however she returned to Zen in 2013 as Business Development Manager.
Suzanne is just one of many examples of the opportunities that are available at Zen to grow and develop, if you have the determination to progress and succeed.
It may take months to provide our team with extensive training, however as is the case with Suzanne and many others, it is most definitely worth the effort.
