As you may have noticed on our blog, as well as on Facebook and Twitter, Zen Lifestyle has been shortlisted in four categories in the prestigious Professional Beauty Awards 2014.
The Professional Beauty Awards, which launched in 1997, is the most prestigious and established awards scheme for the beauty, spa, nails and aesthetics markets, recognising those who make a real difference to the industry and encouraging their development.
We have been nominated for Therapist of the Year, Beauty Salon of the Year – Three Rooms or Fewer, Beauty Salon of the Year – Four Rooms or More, and Employer of the Year – 21 Employees or More, and earlier this week, our two directors, Fiona and Kieran Fowley, travelled to London to complete a panel interview with six judges, as well as a presentation on the business, for the chance to win Employer of the Year.
The judges were looking to find out what makes our business and management philosophy special, hear about our key achievements of 2013, of which there were many, as demonstrated in this blog post, and find out more about our training and development opportunities available at Zen.
Ever since Fiona started the business in 1999, our ethos and vision at Zen has remained the same; to run a business with a fantastic reputation for client care and treatment standards.
To maintain these high standards requires fantastic employees, so we recruit very passionate individuals who take immense pride in their work.
Not only that, in order to provide our customers with the best possible service and treatments across our three beauty salon and day spas, we continually invest in our team and provide them with extensive training and regular opportunities to grow and develop.
That’s why we were so happy to have recently been awarded the Investors in People Standard; we work extremely hard to engage and inspire our staff, and it has fully equipped them with the confidence and ability to achieve excellence.
Therapist of the Year Nomination
Talking of excellence, we are also thrilled that our much-loved beauty therapist, Julie Brown, has been nominated for Therapist of the Year in the Professional Beauty Awards.
Julie has worked with Zen since the beginning of 2006, and we will be catching up with her on the blog very soon to hear her thoughts and opinions in the lead up to the awards ceremony, so make sure you keep your eyes peeled for that.
The winners of the Professional Beauty Awards 2014 will be announced on February 23 at a glittering black-tie event in the heart of London, and we truly hope that we can to add to our achievements on the evening as a reward to our amazingly talented and hard-working team.
