Dermaroller was first used in hospitals and slowly became available to clinics, as it is very safe, effective, and has a quick recovery time. It would be shame to have kept it away from the aesthetic beauty world and its clients looking for a natural skin repair therapy.Dermaroller is designed to utilise the body’s natural healing process by targeting our natural cell regeneration across imperfections such as:
*wrinkles
*firming and tightening skin
*acne scars
*stretch marks
*sun damaged skin
*scars
So what exactly happens during the treatment?
To start the area being treated is covered with a topical anaesthetic for approximately 20 mins. This is to numb the surface of the skin making the treamtment more comfortable.
The next step is to sterilise the area and start the procedure of controlled rolling of 200 micro-needles in different directions for about 20 mins – and this is when the miracle starts!
The roller will reach into the dermis where new collagen is formed and trigger the formation of new skin cells. The skin that has been stimulated by the needles will close in less than one hour after your treatment, helped along by a soothing and calming mask which is applied directly after the treatment. Your therapist with also ensure your skin is fully protected with an SPF 50.
Immediately after your Dermaroller treatment your face may appear slightly pink, as though you have moderate sunburn, and your skin may feel warm and tighter than usual. This will start to subside after 1 to 2 hours and you will normally recover within the same day with only slight redness the following day.
Treatments should be repeated every 6 weeks until the desired results are obtained, However you will see significant results after one procedure.
What makes this procedure special?
The results from a Dermaroller treatment are permanent! New collagen will keep forming up to 1 year after the treatment; however it will not stop the skin ageing and new lines forming, so whenever the skin will need a little boost, we recommend having a Dermaroller treatment or shorter course of 3.
Your skin therapist can build a treatment plan to suit your needs and give aftercare and skincare advice.
